11) a. In order to calculate the allele frequencies, lets assume,

2. There were no mutation in the generations

b: is the pink flower (Recessive)

Lets take,

p= f (B) = 1/4 =0.25= 25%

q= f(b) = 3/4= 0.75=75%

As per Hardy- Weinberg equation:

Assume p + q = 1 ( probability of a dominant in the poulation and probabillity of a recessive in the poulation is 100%)

by squaring both the sides we get,

(p+q)2 = (1)2

p2 + 2pq + q2 = 1------ Hardy- Weinberg

Now Probability of p as homozygous BB

Probability of q as homozygous bb

Probabaility of p*q or q*p as hetrozygotes Bb Bb

so therefore the genotypic frequency turns out to be

BB 2Bb bb

1; 2 : 1

So therefore by summing up the that equation to 100% it gives you the allelic frquency.

(b) Second question,

In order to calculate the relative fitness.

As the chances of survival rate of Blue flowers is 75%

so therefore the relative fitness will be calculated absolute to the blue flowers

W(BB) or W(Bb) : As the relative fitness for blue homozygote and hetrozygote = 75/ 75= 1

W (bb) : as the relative fitness for pink homozygote recessive= 5/75 = 0.06

(c) Nwxt generation of lupins can be calculated as per the heterozygote Bb or homozygotes BB/ bb

By calculating the F3 generation and knowing the allele frequencies it can be calculated.
