a) negative control is the tube in which the no reaction would happen and generate no response. Every well designed experiments should contain negative control because it serves as a reference if no reaction happens in the test experiment tube.
b) Tube number 1 and 2 are negative control because in tube 1 there is only distilled water and the glucose. So no reaction would happen in this tube. In tube 2 only distilled water and the muscle suspension is present. There is no nutrient in the tube to happen any reaction.
C) if the negative control produced the co2 we can conclude any experimental error or bacterial contamination.
D) positive control is the tube in which the response will be observed. Again as the negative control is necessary to see no reaction likewise the positive control is necessary to see the expected results. It serves as a reference to the observed results.
