Question
Explanation / Answer
a) The drug which blocks the voltage gated calcium channels will prevent the entry of calcium ions into the terminal bouton of axon terminal. This will block the release of neurotransmitter and muscle contraction.
b) The drug which blocks the release of calcium ions from the sarcoplasmic reticulum prevents the binding of actin with myosin. Therefore, this drug blocks muscular contraction.
c) The drug which causes EPSP, but no AP and no ACh release would have probably blocked sodium channels preventing depolarization of nerve membrane necessary for the development of action potential. As no action potential is generated, ACh release is also blocked.
