the reaction for it is

HCl + NaOH ----------> NaCl + H2O

mass 23.3 g 10.0 g

moles 23.3g / 36.5 g/mol 10.0g / 40.0 g/mol

= 0.638 mol = 0.25 mol

therefore NaOH is the limiting reagent.

and

moles of H2O produced = 0.25 mol

and

maxium mass of H2O produced= 0.25 mol x 18.0 g/mol

= 4.5 grams
