Question
Pay attention to the fact that in the chemical equation PbI2 is a solid.
5. Consider the following reaction to answer the questions below (you can use arrows up or down to indicate increase or decrease, or write "no change" if there is no change): Pb(NO3)2(a)2KI(a) 2KNO(aq)+Pbl2s)Endothermic A. What will happen to the concentration of KNO; when KI is added? B. What will happen to the concentration of Pbl2 if Pb(NO3)2 is removed from the system? C. What will happen to the concentration of KI if the reaction is heated? D. What will happen to the concentration of Pb(NO3)2 if solid KI is added to the system? (Assume the reactant solutions are unsaturated.)Explanation / Answer
A:- (A) Increase => When KI is added to this equilibrium, The equilibrium shift to right side. So the concentration of KI increaes.
(B) Decreas => When Pb(NO3) is remove from this equilibrium, The equilibrium shift to left side. So the concentration of PbI decreaes.
(C) Decrease => When haeting the equilibrium or raise the temperature, the equilibrium shift towards endothermic side, so the equilibrium shift to right side. As a result the concentration of KI decrease.
(D) Decrease => If solid KI is added the equilibrium, the equilibrium shift to right side. So the concentration of Pb(NO3)2 is decreased.
