so, For SiO2, EN=1.54 then,

  % of ionic character = 16x(1.54) + 3.5x(1.54)² = 32.9%

2) similarily, % of ionic character = 16x(EN) + 3.5x(EN)²

For FeS, EN= 0.75

then, % of ionic character = 16x(.75) + 3.5x(.75)² = 32.9%=14%
