Question

Which of the following statements best (i.e., most closely) describes your current overall attitude toward laboratory safety? (Remember B. of M., 2 Ne. 9:34) A) Safety is my highest priority because I don't want to be unnecessarily exposed to something that might cause death or debilitating injury. B) Sure, I want to be safe, but sometimes the emphasis on safety is entirely TOO much (i.e., the hazards associated with my work do not justify the numerous safety protocols that I am required to follow.) C) What's the big deal? I'm not working with chemical warfare agents, high explosives, or potent carcinogens, so why do I have put on safety glasses just to walk into a lab? D) "Safety" stuff usually makes things worse. For example, my goggles get fogged and I can't see or my gloves prevent me from grasping/holding things securely. E) I don't need someone else telling me how to be safe. I can make those decisions for myself. In the box below, pick a statement from above (enter one letter, A -E) then briefly describe your "Personal Philosophy about Lab Safety" (2 or 3 sentences will probably be adequate, but you can add more if you want to.)

Explanation / Answer

C- Whether you are working with chemical agents or not you should prefer safety first because there are many volatile substances which can directly inhaled by us. There are some metal with low mp that can quickly came out of the test tube and might damage our hand. There are many chemical substances like bromine whose fume not only damage lungs but also damage eyes.
