Explanation / Answer

The equation for the Lineweaver-Burk plot of 1/v versus 1/[S] can be written as follows.

1/v = KM/vmax * 1/[S] + 1/vmax .............. Equation 1

Where S is the substrate, KM is the Michaelis-Menten constant and vmax is the maximum rate observed.

Part 1: Using Tyrosinase enzyme:

The equation of Lineweaver-Burk plot is given as 1/v = 15.84345 * 1/[L-DOPA] + 5.91984

By comparing the above equation with equation 1, you can get

1/vmax = 5.91984, i.e. vmax = 0.1689 mmol/min

KM/vmax = 15.84345

i.e. KM*5.91984 = 15.84345

i.e.  KM = 2.676 mM

Part 2: Using Thiourea enzyme:

The equation of Lineweaver-Burk plot is given as 1/v = 37.4843 * 1/[L-DOPA] + 6.48301

By comparing the above equation with equation 1, you can get

1/vmax = 6.48301, i.e. vmax = 0.1542 mmol/min

KM/vmax = 37.4843

i.e. KM*6.48301 = 37.4843

i.e.  KM = 5.782 mM

Part 3: Using Benzoic acid enzyme:

The equation of Lineweaver-Burk plot is given as 1/v = 6.94851 * 1/[L-DOPA] + 25.05626

By comparing the above equation with equation 1, you can get

1/vmax = 25.05626, i.e. vmax = 0.0399 mmol/min

KM/vmax = 6.94851

i.e. KM*25.05626 = 6.94851

i.e.  KM = 0.277 mM
