Most proposals to reduce the impact of climate change focus on reducing emission

Question

Most proposals to reduce the impact of climate change focus on reducing emission of greenhouse gases, by (1) developing clean energy sources, (2) reducing energy use by conservation, or (3) removing CO_2 before or after combustion (CCS). Some have suggested that societies simply learn to live with climate change (adaptation). For now, let us assume that reducing emissions of greenhouse gases becomes a top global priority. After researching this issue, rank the list of options described above in order of decreasing practicality and effectiveness in mitigating climate change. If you find other options, feel free to include them as well. Good places to find information are the web sites of the U.S. Environmental Protection Administration (www.epa.gov), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (www.noaa.gov), and web sites of environmental organizations such as the Sierra Club and Environmental Defense.

Explanation / Answer

In order of reducing practicality...it wil be 1) reducing energy use by conservation 2)developing clean energy and 3)removing C02 before or after combustion (CCS)

The first two are still possible as with growing awareness people will become more conscience and reduce their energy use;emergence of clean energy as alternate such as CNG,PheV etc can be put into practice with propoer government laws and regulations but the third and the least practical option is removal of CO2 as it can only be effective at point sources as industries, biomass energy facilitiesand cannot be extracted from the atmosphere because it does remain concentrated at one place.
