You successfully applied to be the mixologist for the 2016 Annual Vampires Festival Ball, and need to answer the following questions in order to successfully fulfill your duties. You will need the definition that pH = -log [H^+], where [H^+] is the moles of hydrogen ion per liter of solution. (i) Find the number of moles per liter of hydrogen ion in one liter of the Coke. State this in a complete English sentence. (ii) Same for the blood. Suppose you will need to make punch containing the blood of 199 humans, together with 5 liters of the Coke, in order to satisfy your guests. (iii) Find the number of moles of hydrogen ion in the Coke you will add to the punch. (iv) Do the same as (iii) for the blood. (v) What is the volume of the punch, and total moles of hydrogen ion? State this in a complete English sentence. (vi) Find the concentration of hydrogen ion you will add to the punch, in moles per liter. (vii) Now use (v) to find the pH of the punch your guests will drink. Now suppose some of your guests like their blood straight up, with just a shot of water. They call this a Bloody Mary, for some reason. (viii) If you pour x liters of water into a goblet, how many moles of hydrogen ion have you poured? Answer this in a complete English sentence. (ix) If you added 50 ml of Coke to the water from (vii), find the total moles of hydrogen ion in the goblet, the volume of liquid in the goblet, and the concentration of iron in moles per liter. Be sure then to answer this question in a complete English sentence. (x) One of your guests likes his Bloody Mary to have ph 7 use(viii) to set up and solve an equation to find how much water equation you must add to his goblet. (xi) Tell us, in a complete English sentence, the total volume of Bloody Mary you served to this ghoulish guest.

(V) Punch contains blood of 199 humans and 5L coca cola. Each human contains 5L of blood

Total volume of punch = (199 X5) + 5 = 1000L. The total volume of punch is one thousand liters.

pH of blood = 7.4

[H+] = antilog(-pH) = 3.98 X 10-8 M. It means 3.98 X 10-8 moles of H+ are present in one liter of human blood.

Total H+ in 199 liters = 3.98 X 10-8 X 199 = 7.92 X 10-6 moles

pH of coca cola = 2.5

[H+] = antilog(-pH) = 0.00316 M. It implies 0.00316 moles of H+ are present in 1L of coca cola

H+ in 5 L of coca-cola = 0.00316 X 5 = 0.0158 moles

Total moles of H+ in 1000L of punch = 7.92 X 10-6 +  0.0158 = 1.58 X 10-2 moles

(VI) Moles of H+ per liter = 1.58 X 10-2 / 1000 = 1.58 X 10-5 moles per liter.
