Question
"In the preparation of the originally published paper a relevant theoretical paper was not discussed as it was missed in the literature survey. It is particularly interesting to compare these quantitative electron scattering calculations with the results in the original paper because it is possible to make deductions about the probability of electron attachment to HC3N in vibrationally excited states. The cross section is increased by vibrational excitation. The role of vibrational excitation could be tested in further experiments where the temperature of the sample is varied; significant temperature dependence of the negative ion signal would be expected where the dissociative electron attachment cross section is increased by vibrational excitation of the molecule."
Can someone help me change this paragraph to the active voice? I know that the active voice is when the subject does the action of the verb on the object but I would just like to double check that I am doing this correctly because here it is not so obvious.
Explanation / Answer
In the preparation of the originally published paper I didnot discuss a relevant theoretical paper as I missed it in the literature survey. I find it particularly interesting to compare these quantitative electron scattering calculations with the results in the original paper because making deductions about the probability of electron attachment to HC3N in vibrationally excited states is possible. Vibrational excitation increases the cross section. I could test the role of vibrational excitation in further experiments by varying the temperature of sample; I would expect significant temperature dependence of negative ion signal where vibrational excitation of molecule increases the dissociative electron attachment cross section.(In this whole paragraph, subject is I because here "I" is doing everything, 'We' can also be written in place of 'I').
