Question

I am sorry for asking a question, but would you please go through the Report Question (you may refer to page 22. "Zero-Order" equation).

All solutions containing Cr ion must be collected and added to the inorganic salts waste beaker. Fill in the waste disposal sheet. Your lab instructor will dispose of the total volume in the appropriate container. Remove labels from cuvettes with 95% ethanol. Report Question Answer the following question in your report template with a full paragraph of explanation. Scott performed this experiment, but was curious why the lab manual assumed that the reaction was not Zero Order. He decided to check for it himself by creating an integrated rate law graph according to the equation on page 242Which of the following graphs would Scott see if he plotted his data using that equation? Why? He decided to check for it hinosf he folowngraphs would ma M- 28

Explanation / Answer

The plot drawn by you is correct.

Answer paragraph would be: Comparing the equation of curve for [A] vs t plot to a straight line equation y=mx+c we find that the curve is a straight line. Slope m =-k means the graph would be a downward sloping line as k is positive. Its intercet c would be equal to [A]o that is initial concentration value of A. Among the given plots plot C and E are straight line plots but only E has slope of the line negative that concentration of [A] has to decrease with time.In C [A] is increasing with time. Thus scott would see his plot like that of figure E.
