Explanation / Answer

GEORGE GRENVILLE was the British prime minister during the period 1763-1765 and some people still believe that Grenville was ultimately responsible for one of the reason which led to American revolution. During his time Britain was heavily in debts and to overcome the situation Grenville called American colonists as high taxed people in the world. By using Grenville leadership many British officials considered the American Colonies as direct source of income.

In simple words Greenville policies of taxing the American Colonies were initiated from the very first SUGAR ACT 1764, CURRENCY ACT 1764 followed by STAMP ACT 1765 and these flow of events finally resulted in leading to the American revolution. To gain popularity in Britain Greenville lowered taxes there and he raised taxes on the colonies in order to keep revenues coming in

After becoming the prime minister Greenville was responsible for the STAMP ACT 1765, which was introduced as a part of ideologically driven program but this stamp act provoked serious rioting in America. The impact of these responses destroyed the relationship between parliament and the colonial assemblies. And this negative impact is considered as one major reason which led to American revolution.
