Amelia Earhart (July 24, 1897, disappeared July 2, 1937), fondly known as "Lady Lindy," was an American aviator who mysteriously disappeared in 1937 while trying to circumnavigate the globe from the equator. Earhart was the 16th woman to be issued a pilot's license. She had several notable flights, including becoming the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean in 1928 as well as the first person to fly over both the Atlantic and Pacific. Earhart was legally declared dead in 1939.

She is a pioneer in american aviation industry and was the sixteenth woman to be issued a pilot's license, later in 1928 she became the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, for this she received the U.S. Distinguished Flying Cross Award.

However she was mysteriously disappeared over the central pacific ocean near howland island in 1937 while attempting to circumnavigate the globe from the equator, her fascination to life, career, and disappearance continues to this day.
