DIscuss the myriad ramifications of constructing the Aswan Dam on the Nile River. Do not write an opinion, but rather, information regarding the topic, citing source/s from which it came and use different sources for each selection you make:

Compare and contrast algal blooms before and after the dam...where do they proliferate and why?

Has pollution increased or decreased since construction?

Explanation / Answer

Ans- the ramifications of the construction of Aswan dam on Nile River include the traping of sediments like soil particles and nutrients which were deposited on the plains of Egypt earlier to construction. This reduce the gain of nutrients by field because now these sediments and nutrients were trapped in an area before the Aswan dam. This increase the use of chemical by farmers to fulfil the nutrients needs of fields.( The controversy of Aswan dam by Joey min)

The algal bloom was able to use the sediments and nutrients lying before the area of Aswan dam on Nile River so they proliferation in that area easily.

The pollution levels increase after the construction of Aswan dam because it makes the farmers to use chemical to fulfil the needs of nutrients by the soil. This leads to soil salinity and soil erosion. (Aswan dam -wikibooks)
