While researching for information about what the federal government does to achieve equality for the aged, disabled, and the and lesbian communities I was amazed how many federal offices and state organizations offer tools and resources to help people find services, benefits and other forms of aid that may be available to them. For example, the National Association of Nutrition and Aging Services Programs (NANASP)is a national membership organization for persons across the country working to provide older adults healthful food and nutrition through community based services. As well as, legal services, if a person feels they are being discriminated against due to their age. The elderly in the United States are growing in numbers and many gains have been made to ensure the health and safety of older Americans. Advocacy efforts by people with disabilities and others on their behalf have a long history. Fortunately, a major milestone was achieved in 1990 with the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. A federal website, Disability.gov provides an interactive network of disability related programs, services, laws and benefits. and lesbians have been working very hard to achieve equality but have yet to achieve the same kind national recognition through either legislation or legal process. The LGBT community faces discrimination in day to day concerns such as discrimination in employment. The federal government offers and supports numerous programs for the LGBT community. Such programs as ACLU'S LGBT Project which fights discrimination and moves public opinion through the courts, legislatures and public education in the areas of relationships, youth and schools, parenting, gender identity and expression, employment and housing. Another resource is, Lambda Legal: In Your State, a list of each state's policies and laws on three LGBT areas; relationship recognition; employment protections and parenting laws. I believe more can be done to fight any inequality no matter what it may be. No person should face discrimination because of their age, a disability or their sexual preference.

Yes I do accept that the federal government and its laws(federal laws) strictly prohibit workplace discrimination and many workers are currently protected by these laws. But i still I think more can be done to fight inequality. The two important federal laws related to this particular passage are ADEA(AGE DISCRIMINATION IN EMPLOYMENT ACT) and ADA(AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT) which are been successfully implemented over years and these laws prohibit any harrassment or discrimination in workplace. Right now the age limit for age discrimination is 40 and I personally think that should be changed because discrimination has no certain limits. Because anyone, anywhere can undergo harrassment because of age.
What if 30 year old person face discrimination at work?? So the law has to be modified to no particular age(which is 40 at present). To be honest I personally feel it is unlawful to harass a person because of age, gender or disability. The EEOC(Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) has to be appreciated for playing vital role by protecting many people from discrimination in workplace. So even I do believe that more can be done to fight inequality, of course we all have the right to be treated equally.
