This is a higher order gift that gives us the ability to interact with and respond to creative expression not only in art, but in all of life as well. A person’s feelings, thoughts, values, and appreciations collectively come into play when experiencing something aesthetically. This works in a variety of ways – sometimes in a positive manner, sometimes negatively. Experiencing fine art aesthetically is a skill that can be developed progressively and is not limited to the duration of this course of study. Perhaps many of you already feel adequately equipped to interact with art. Some may not. The truth is you do not have to be professionally trained to be able to find very satisfying levels of meaning and inspiration in art. Just like your physical body, you can train and develop your God-given aesthetic capacity. You’ll be able to do things you simply could not do prior to your conditioning regimen. Training yourself to run faster aesthetically equates to discovering deeper levels of meaning in fine art. Conditioning yourself to jump higher aesthetically equates to more experiencing heightened moments of inspiration in fine art. Developing the ability to walk further aesthetically equates to experiencing greater levels of personal joy, enrichment, and satisfaction when interacting with artistic expression of any sort. This course seeks to help train one aspect of your aesthetic ability, in particular – your thought processes. By training your mind to make informed decisions – aesthetic judgments, if you will – a whole new world of meaning and inspiration will unfold before you. Upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be able to: Define and describe the important aspects of aesthetics. PART 1: Definitions of Aesthetics from Dictionary.com:

If we look at the first and second definitions of Aesthetics from Dictionary.com the FIRST definition is more useful compared to the second definition because in my opinion Aesthetics is basically something that is pleasing to the eye or appreciation of beauty. Aesthetics also refers to the critique of art and design. I personally think that Aesthetics definition differs between people and culture and literally Aesthetics challenges our way of thinking about art.

PART 2: My own definition of the word Aesthetics:

AESTHETICS: The word Aesthetics comes from the Greek word AISTHETIKOS which means perceptive or sensitive. Aesthetics is the branch of philosophy which involves the study of beauty in nature. In simple words Aesthetics do elevate our mind because we are able to appreciate beauty and judge good from bad which makes our life worth living.
