From the table, you can see that Iatitude lines are eveny spaced, approximately 111 km (69 miles) apart the linear distance separating each degree of latitude, the distance ted. Explanation / Answer

a) latitude of Mumbai= 19°N

angular distance from equator= 19°

distance from equator = 19*111= 2109 km

In miles = 19*69 = 1311 miles

b) Miami is at 25.8 °N, so latitidinal degree from 10°S latitude = 35.8°

distance = 35.8*111= 3974 km

In miles = 35.8*69 = 2470.2 miles

c) Edinburgh is at 55.95 °N

angular distance= 55.95-5= 50.95 °

distance= 50.95*111 = 5655 km

In miles = 50.95*69 = 3515.55 miles

d) Latitude of my location in Texas = 32°N

angular distance from equator= 32 °

distance= 32*111 = 3552 km

In miles = 32*69 = 2208 miles
