How efficiently telescopes work at different wavelengths
That telescopes in space are much more expensive to construct and maintain than Earth-based telescopes
Choose one of each of the following proposals, and briefly describe the reasoning behind your decision. (You may assume the wavelength is correct for the goal, i.e. a gamma ray ‘scope could detect the black hole.)
Project A:
A gamma ray telescope, located in Antarctica, which will be used to look for evidence to indicate the presence of a black hole.
Project B:
A visible wavelength telescope, located on a university campus, which will be used in the search for extra solar planets.
Why?
Project E:
A UV wavelength telescope, place high on Mount Kea, which will be used to look at distant galaxies.
Project F:
A visible wavelength telescope, place in Earth orbit, which will be used to observe a pair of binary stars location in the constellation Ursa Major.

Explanation / Answer
Project A would be better because it can look for the evdence present to indicate the presense of black hole . But one more thing which makes it really special is that It has a large telescope that finds gamma rays with 10 million to more than 300 billion times the energy of visible light. The spacecraft also has detectors that observe gamma-ray bursts. Gamma-ray bursts are brief flashes of gamma rays.
