Question

Recently, several states have begun suing Exxon-Mobil over climate change, saying that the company knew about the link between CO2 and climate long ago and hid the information from investors because it would harm their bottom line. Opponents of this approach say that the company had the free speech right to not tell people about the link. Do you think that this approach is a good strategy to combat climate denial? Is it likely to succeed? Should it succeed? Does this have nothing to do with climate denial? Be specific.

Explanation / Answer

Exxon mobil has done many serious studies on climate change and role of CO2 in it from 1977 itself. They were knew abou the cause of CO in environment. Some scientists already warned the company that if CO2 is increased, global temperature will also get increase. But the company disagreed with it. From these controversies, my personal opinion is taht exxon was covering these information and denied it just to make their bussiness better.
