Discuss how culture influences product safety. You can discuss this from any culture’s viewpoint or compare viewpoints from two different cultures. Include at least three specific examples of how culture has influenced product safety.

For example: Seatbelts were not originally installed in cars and were only offered as an option in the 1940s and 1950s. But studies and hospital records started indicating that many vehicular deaths could be averted if the victim had been wearing a seatbelt. Seatbelts became mandatory in cars in 1968, but states didn’t start creating seatbelt laws until the 1980s.

Gym equipments in various countries are specifically produced as per the ergonomics so that no injuries will take place while doing any exercises and hence gym franchises like Gold’s gym use this type of equipments but then there are countries where no government interventions is done these ergonomics like India, Bangladesh and other developing countries.

Then there are many painkiller medication that are banned in some part of the world while it is very famous in other part of world. One such example is Tramadol which is consider as a schedule 4 drug in US but in Australia it is considered as schedule 8 drug and hence cannot be possessed in Australia.

There are many issue regarding use of sodium salts and one of this sodium salt is Monosodium glutamate also known as MSG and there are many contradictory laws in various countries for MSG like in Australia is it alarmist impossible to use MSG while in countries like India and China it is used very frequently.
