Explanation / Answer

A 360 degree approach for employee evaluation considers input from different stakeholders like peers, managers,subodinates etc. It is a comprehensive approach of performace appraisal.

Steps in Employee Evaluation Process-

1.Establish and Communicate Perfomance Standards- The managers must determine what outputs, and skills will be evaluated.It included Responsibilty and Accountabilty to complete assigned tasks,subject matter knowlege,Knowlege of tools to be used to perform daily tasks,Bringing new ideas,Discipline ,Honesty towards Organisation etc.

2.Measuring Actual Performance- While measuring the actual performance of an employee, feedback should be taken from all stakeholders, which makes an appraisal 360 degree appraisal. For example behaviour of an employee can be measured as per feedback received from peers and Accountabilty and responsibilty can be measured on the basiss of feedback received from his/her supervisor.

3. Comparing expected and actual results- Actual performance of and employee is comapred with the expectations. Key responsibilty areas are set at the begining of the year and at the end of the year these KRA's are comapared with the actual performance of an employee.

4.Discussion with Employee- Once apprasals are ppepared by respective authories are presented to emploees.All strength and weaknesses of an employee are discussed in this discussion. Self assessment of an employee is also considered while discussion is done with employee.Respective authorities always try to make it a win-win situation for both employee and employer.
