This is an observational study that concludes the more dietary fat you eat, makes you less likely to die at an earlier age. This study appears scientific because they recorded eating habits of over 135,000 adults within different socioeconomic classes. They followed up and recorded the results. People who had the highest intake of fat died less, while rates of cardiovascular diseases remained steady no matter how much fat you consumed. Problems with this are that you’re only tracking what they eat, not their other daily habits such as sleep, exercise, and mental well-being. If you were to accept the claim as true and start eating solely fat to live a longer life, than you may be subject to other side effects that were not observed in the study.

Explain what insight you gained from reading the above article/evaluation. What additional changes you would suggest to correct the deficiencies in the observational study, if any, to move it further down the pathway to science. If you would not add any changes, briefly explain why you feel your peer's suggested changes are sufficient.

Explanation / Answer

Insights gained from the article : Fats are not always contributing to health effects. Good fats are always good for health. Heart related diseases does not comes from intake of fat. Apart from food intake, proper rest, exercises are necessary to live a good life. Following a good diet is a healthy life style. One has to balance both physical and mental health.
