2.Solutions currently implemented: Discuss how the issue has been addressed historically. Determine the courses of action taken in science, technology, political and economic systems, laws and regulations, community-based initiatives, education, and so forth. Review the successes and limitations of these actions.
3.Recommendations: Explain the actions that you believe need to be developed and implemented to accomplish change. Discuss your solution from multiple perspectives, such as educational, legislative, scientific, technological, economic, and other points of view.
In addition you should cite at least three other credible sources. You are cautioned to check out internet sources. The web abounds with junk science that is totally unreliable.
Explanation / Answer
1. HUMAN IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT: Humans are a part of the natural environment. But unfortunately, directly or indirectly our human activities often lead to degradation of the environment. Here I would like to list some of the major issues human impact has caused on environment. They are:
DEFORESTATION: The increase in population is the main reason to blame because to build new homes more and more trees are being cut down. By this deforestation we are loosing valuable oxygen producers.
GLOBAL WARMING: INCREASE in Carbon dioxide levels, greenhouse effect, global temperatures altogether results in global warming which is responsible for damaging phenomenon that can cause increase in health problems.
INDUSTRIALIZATION do increase carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels, thus polluting the environment.
WATER POLLUTION: Harmful chemicals and products left from Oil and Gasoline spills, also oil spills from ships can damage aquatic life too. The harmful products from industries are deposited into local water which travels all their way and gets mixed with our drinking water and pollute them.
ACID RAIN is another best example for human impact on the environment. By burning fossil fuels sulphates and nitrates are released into air and gets mixed with water vapour in atmosphere and form sulphuric acid and nitric acid, which results in acid rain.
2. REDUCING THE HUMAN IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT:
The humanity itself has to be threatened because of our very own actions resulting in the depletion of natural resources. Global climate change is the very difficult challenge to face as the outcome cannot be good without immediate actions to reduce human impact on the environment. Some governments are already successful in bringing awareness in people by giving tips to lessen their impact on the environment. The usage of energy efficient appliances and light bulbs, painting the terrace roofs with putty to reduce the usage of air conditioning are some of the major solutions which needs to be appreciated. People are able to provide some space for garden in their homes and already planting as many trees as possible. Majority of the countries are already very much into the concept of REDUCE, RE-USE AND RECYCLE. This is very good sight to observe how people are already a part of controlling the human impact on the environment and many more activities needs to be implemented in next coming years.
3. RECOMMENDATIONS: First important thing is to educate people about the human impact on environment through different programs or presentations and the mindset needs to be changed. It is fine dealing with developed countries, but in case of undeveloped countries in ASIA still rely on burning coal for heating their homes. So it would a difficult task to educate them, POVERTY has to be blamed for this reason. The government of particular countries should take care to provide them heaters, by which they do stop burning coal which can reduce the burning of fossil fuels and control the pollution of the atmosphere upto some extent. Apart from this More trees need to be planted, and on the same hand cut down of trees needs to be stopped immediately. Plants are very much essential for our environment, it is our responsibility to plant as many trees as possible and protect our atmosphere. Apart from these the USAGE OF PLASTIC BAGS NEEDS TO BE RESTRICTED and go green PAPER BAGS are to be encouraged. These are just few recommendations that can bring some kind of change in people and reduce the impact on the environment upto some extent.
