To meet the course objectives you will complete lab exercises. Some of these lab exercises will use the Google Earth software program. This first lab will help you become more familiar with navigating and using the various tools within Google Earth.   Download and install the free Google Earth software to complete this exercise. Links to the free software download can be found under the Resources (in the course menu) and elsewhere in the course.

To complete the lab exercise, click on the Introduction to Geology and Google Earth lab file link above to open the lab exercise in your word processing program and follow the directions. Once you have finished your lab, save it to your computer with this name yourfirstname_yourlastname_lab_1.

To submit the completed lab exercise, click on the lab assignment link above and attach the saved file from you computer by clicking on the Browse My Computer button. Once the file has been uploaded click the Submit button. These are the same steps illustrated in the Chapter 1 Assignment.
