1. There are wide array of goals which should guide government in decision making . However I am discussing only three major goals.
* Stabilization - Government should try to stabilize the economy through mix of fiscal and monetary policy. A stable economy is very important in decision making.
* Allocation - Government must allocate resources among the actors so that it takes economy to higher growth trajectory. Also government must see that it allocate resources in such a way that healthy competition exist in economy and no one turn monopolist.
* Distribution - Government must distribute resources among the people in a way to reduce the inequality in economy. Inequality is a soical ill and government must try to remove inequality. A tax and transfer policy has vital role in removing inequality.
