(10 pts) (37) A thermal inversion occurs when Spts) (38) What type of thermal inversion is most likely to occur in cold nights? (a) Radiation (b) Subsidence (c) Advection

Explanation / Answer

26) Convection is the heat transfer which happens in gases and liquids as a result of temperature and density differences.

Cool air has more denisty .

Warm air has less denisty. As a result of less denisty warm air rises. When the warm air rises , the cold air flows in through the window and takes its place and cools the room. The risen warm air escapes from the ventilator at the top.

So cold air continues to flow inside and the warmed air rises and escapes from the ventilator at the top.

In this way the air circulation happens by convection in a heated room with cool air flowing in from the window.
