Question
Here are the instructions:
Using the data available to you in the State school districts data file, attempt to identify the relationship between school district size and the cost of current educational services.
I have to come up with a regression model and I'm not sure on what variables to use or how many. It is a pretty open ended assignment. The sample regression model was:
ln E = -1.21 - .343 ln h + .697 ln Y + .634 ln N - .053 ln P
where:
ln E is the natural log of school operating expenditures
ln h is the natural lof of tax price
ln Y is the natural log of income
ln N is the natural log of population
ln P is % of pupils in nonpublic schools
we were given a huge data file in IBM SPSS. If someone could point me in the right direction (as far as what type of variables to use and how many) it would be greatly appreacited. I have 182 variables that I can work with but only need to use like 5 or so for the multiple regression. It can't be the same as the sample model
