According to Adam Smith, the invisible hand is a phenomenon that says that actions taken by individuals for their own interest also benefits the society. It helps society to improve and overall income level, employment and prosperity in the economy improve.
It can be well understood by the example of a landlord who distributes his produce to the people who work for him. Similarly, an entrepreneur wants to establish his/ her enterprise to earn profit. But, to achieve this, he / she employs workers and gives salary and wages to them. Thus, action led to their own benefits are also benefiting the society. It signifies the importance of invisible hand and it is well documented by Adam Smith in his work “The Theory of Moral Sentiments”.
