To date, there is a lot of questions around how colleges should reimburse college athletes. Students that are expected to exceed rigorous expectations, go to school, and perform under pressure for their University. If they fall below a certain standard, students may then lose their funding and have to take massive debts. Should student athletes be compensated as if they are working a part-time job? What about those students that performing well academically, working two jobs, and perhaps commuting? What if TU left their current Football Conference to become a bowl based school? What do you think TU would need to do to meet student assistance while ensuring equity across all student athletes and academic groups?

Explanation / Answer

Students have to face constant pressure when it comes to college funding and scholarships . The colleges provide funding based on performance would put extra pressure on their performances and might hamper their will and motivation to perform better . Where as academically sound ones get a better footing than athelets and therefore will create competiiton internnally as well . The school needs to focus on the financial standings of these students and not just their performance ,a minimum bar for funding will create motivation for all to work better both academically and in extra curriculars too. If the athelets will be paid as part timers it will not be fair for the students who are academically well and work outside too .Therefore it has to be a mix of both to use funding approach universally and for it to be more fair .
