Lung auscultation revealed rales over the R bronchus. CXR revealed fluid in the RUL. The patient was sent to the hospital. Vital signs upon admission were: temperature 102°F, pulse 100 and rapid, respirations 24 and labored, blood pressure 180/110. She was treated with IV antibiotics, postural drainage, and IPPB. She responded well to treatment, and was released home to her family with oral antibiotics on the third day.

1. The patient's likely diagnosis is bronchial pneumonia.
2. The bronchopneumonia is an acute exudative suppurative inflammation of the lungs characterised by foci of consolidation surrounded by normal parenchyma, It is usually caused by bacteria like staphylococcus, streptococcus, E.coli. In other words, it can be described as a viral or bacterial or fungal infection which causes inflammation and infection in the alveoli in the lung.
3. Presenting symptoms:
SOB: Signs of breathlessness. It occurs due to fluid filled in the alveolar sac causing incomplete filling of air in the sac resulting in breathlessness.
Orthopnea: It can be revealed by position change allowing drainage of the fluid filled in the sac.
Elevated Temperature: it is the result of the underlying bacterial or viral infection
A productive cough.
It can also be presented as chest pain while breathing, confusion and change of mental awareness.
4. Temperature: 102F. It is a high-grade fever. Normal Range: 97-99F
Pulse: 100/min> patient is in tachycardia. Normal range 60-100/min
Respiration: 24. (Patient had tachypnoea) Normal range is 16 to 20 resp/min
