           Empirical Rule is found on page 88.

1.    About 68% of the data lie within 1 standarddeviation of the mean.

2.    About 95% of the data lie within 2 standarddeviations of the mean.

3.    About 99.7% of the data lie within 3 standarddeviations of the mean.

           99.7% of the values lie between xbar –3 s and xbar + 3s

           82 – 3(2) = 76 and 82 + 3(2) = 88

Explanation / Answer

I found out that there was a typo in the assignment. Whew! ;-) Problem solved....
