Explanation / Answer
Communication with hearing impairment adult should be subtle and should be dealt with patience.Successful communication requires the efforts of all the people involved in a conversation.Speak clearly, slowly, distinctly without shouting or exaggerating mouth movements. Shouting distorts the sound of speech and may make speech reading more difficult. Even if the adult person cannot hear he can understand by lip movements sometimes. Avoid talking too rapidly or using sentences that are too complex, pause between sentences or phrases and make sure you have been understood by the person or not. Give a listener a chence to focus attention and this reduces the chance of missing words. If they are unable to read the medication bottle, you read for them and make them understand. Keep it in a secure place and let them know so it would be easy for the person to use it later onwards.
First of all the word 'Ageism' itself is a word used to describe discrimination between the adolescents and the adults. It is stereotyping and the term is predominantly used in treatment in realtion to older people.
The lesson that i have learnt from this assignment is never leave adults or old aged persons alone . If the person is with such kind of impairment like hearing and unable to see properly ,those people should be taken into much consideration. They should be given much care as they are similar to children specially in this age. Even if it is not possible for any individual to look after them ,appoint some nursing care people to take care of them continously.
