Question
A local TV celebrity has been admitted to the local hospital. She states that she wants her admission to remain private and does not want her room number or the fact that she is there at all released to anyone but her sister, Mary Ann Green. The registration specialist in the ER tells her that is not possible and that if anyone goes to the information desk, he or she will be given her room number. If she does not wish to see the visitor, she will have to ask the nurses on the unit to put a "do not disturb" sign on the door of her room. Is this correct? Explain your answer.
Explanation / Answer
When the patient is not willing to disclose the information of being admitted into the hospital the decision of the patient should be respected and if possible the ideas of exposing any patients information should not be given to anyone if it is asked to.However if there is no such complications in any case the information can be share to the family and friends without any hesitation. In public service one should have the power or the ability to take the right decision and also to discriminate or segregate the wrong from the right. In this type of work social logic is an important consideration .
