Cozaar 100 mg (losartan) is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist.
It helps in narrowing of blood vessels, which lowers blood pressure & improves blood flow hence controlling hypertension.
Cozaar is also used to slow long-term kidney damage in people with type 2 diabetes with high blood pressure.
It is also used in combination to antihypertensive medicines.
It is used in BPH to relive its symptoms along with controlling the Blood pressure.
Herbal therapies for BPH, such as saw palmetto, are most commonly for treatment of BPH.
This herbal extract is taken from the purple berries of the American saw palmetto plant (Serenoa repens). It helps to shrink the prostate & improve urinary symptoms, by reducing the activity of the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase.
The key compound in saw palmetto is beta sitosterol, a phytosterol (plant sterol which is also marketized as active ingredient.
