Question
You are a program coordinator for the Pan American Hemisphere Organization (PAHO), a major global and multilateral subdivision of the WHO, focused on Latin countries south of the equator. In the past decade, your organization has had to respond to numerous accounts of natural and man driven problems. Today, you are to respond to major cities along a coastal country in South America that have just been hit with an 8.1 earthquake 97 miles away in the Pacific Ocean, alongside multiple 4.5+ aftershocks, and tsunami warnings. One thing to note, this country has experienced multiple uprisings against the government prior to the natural disaster. The leadership and economy of the country is unstable at best. Majority of its citizens live along the coast, hundreds of miles away from international borders. However, because of the clvil unrest, people were starting to plan to move inland prior to the earthquake. 1. As a disaster coordinator brought in by PAH0 to help organize international efforts, describe one major cultula, one major administrative, and one major health challenge/barrier you may encounter as you create an action plan for rebuilding the major cities? (6 points)Explanation / Answer
From the question it was understood that there is a lack of proper administration with good leader and high levels of corruption in the administration. As the most of people still live in the coastal symbalises that govenmnet not provided them with proper education facilities and livelyhood opportunities. So due to lack of education people may not be aware of epedemic and endemic nature of diseases and various vaccinations. So for any disease they depend on improper traditional and unscientific rituals.
So administrator has to provide education and livelyhood opportunities.
Administrator has to creatw awareness about various diseasesa and vaccines by involving various helath care problems.
Administrator has to create stringent policies for the benefit of the public in administration to avoid corruption and making the government officials answerabl to their work.
