1). Urinalysis (UA) is a division of clinical laboratory, which includes the physical, chemical and microscopic examination of urine.

Routine urinalysis and pregnancy test can be done by medical assistants. But the culture and sensitivity (C&S) must be done a physician or any other competent individual.

The specimens used for the pregnancy test, routine urinalysis and tests for abnormal analysis can be collected in nonsterile containers. But the sample for bacteriologic culture must be collected in a sterile container.
