Question

INTRODUCTION: Digital circuits can be separated into two fundamental types - static circuits and dynamic circuits. Static circuits consist of AND, OR, INVERT, NAND, NOR and Exclusive OR gates Dynamic digital circuits contain memory devices (namely flip flops) and are capable of storing data. EXPERIMENT PROCEDURE FINDAMENTAL GATE OPERATIONS The fundamental logic gates are AND (, or no symbol), OR (+) and INVERT (indicated by an overbar on the variable). The operation of these gates is defined by using a truth table. The reader should refer to the EET350 text for the truth tables of these gate types. In Multisim, construct the circuit in Figure 1. For this circuit, the AND OR and INVERT gates are located in Group: TTL, Family: 74STD The switch is located in Group: Basic, Family: Switch, Component: SPDT. Once you place the switch, you will need to flip it horizontally. Do this by right clicking on it and selecting "Flip Horizontal". Next you need to rename the switches to "A" and "B". To do this, double click the switch, click on the "Value" tab and set the "Key for Switch" value to "A" or "B" as needed. Once the switches have been named, check their operation by pressing the "A" and "B" keys on your keyboards and verifying that the arms of the corresponding switches on the screen change positions. The indicators can be found under Group: Indicators, Family: Probe, and Component PROBE DIG RED (or whatever color you prefer)
