Question
8. T he motion application at right is different from the one at left. What term is used to describe the profile on the right: Transition from lower to higher velocity Transition from lower to higher velocity Ajob with high velocity is appended to a previous positioning Ajob with high velocity is overlapped with a previous velocity "O". The second job starts from standstill. positioning job terminates at its target position at positioning job. The first positioning job terminates without standstill at its target position. The second job starts with the new velocity.Explanation / Answer
The term acceleration determines the profile correctly. The rate of change of velocity is acceleration. In the profile on the right, the job accelerates, this increases the velocity. The job moves with constant velocity before and after accleration.i.e they move with zero accleration at first and then undergoes acceleration which increases it's velocity and then again move with zero accleration.
But in left profile, the job undergoes deceleration at first and later acceleration.i.e job at first move with zero accleration at a particular velocity and undergoes deceleration which brings the job to rest(v=0) and again undergoes acceleration which in turn increases it's velocity and then moved with zero accleration (constant velocity).
Acceleration results in increase of velocity.Deceleration results in decrease of velocity.zero acceleration results in constant velocity
