Question
Hi, I need help with this one. I've read the chapter, but it isn't clear on the concept. I've tried different options, but have gotten nowhere. I understand that EM radiation is caused by a moving electron that may be induced by an AC circuit. The chapter gives me that much, but beyond that I don't really know. Thank you.
Which of these will create EM radiation? (Select all that apply.)
A.) a proton moving at a constant speed in a circular path
B.) an electron moving at a constant speed in a circular path
C.) an electron moving at constant velocity
D.) an AC circuit
E.) a motionless proton
Explanation / Answer
EMR is considered to be produced when charged particles are accelerated by forcesacting on them.
A) motion along circular path hence force is action on it hence it will for EM radiations
B) same as above
C) constaant velocity means no acceleration hence no radiations
D)Changing directions hence forces are acting so EM wave will be formed
E) no force acting so no radiation
hence correect options are A , B, D
