In this new wavey era that we currently inhabit, the sensationalizing of news and the compromised ethics of news giants and their reporting styles along with the advent of social media, have led create a broth that is all to messy. It has inevitably to an over sensitization of matters which has curbed all possibilities of free debate.
Political correctness is a shield that is being used by political wings for the mere purpose of propelling their propaganda by using it as a mask for veritably conservatism. Political correctness is a guard that is now being exploited as well as extrapolated by individuals who do not want to listen to reason, and dodge all means of fair discussion and hence conclusions, in order to give vocation to their dogmatism.
The horror that political correctness actually encompasses huge and troublesome if not curbed. The horror begin from the fact that it isn't even an actual term that has a standardized lexical definition; thus equipping it with the capacity to have spillovers into any topic of conversation without the exercising of barricades to its use, which makes it easier fro individual and political wings to throw them around in any given context.
This tortuous exercising of the term has led to change, a stark one at that, in the way people communicate with one another - in a world where everything has been severely polarized - in order to not hurt, or more like not be blamed (wrongfully) of having hurt someones sentiments.
The evidence for this is existent, quite clearly, in the Show Seinfeld, wherein Jerry Seinfeld, the protagonist is considered to be racist by Elaines friend Wynona as he unveils a red Indian cigar statuette as a token of apology to Elaine. Now, it is a known fact that Jerry is the most harmless, and non racist character on the show. But a mere gesture can be misinterpreted by many who have been probably taught to. Although there are a few other stereotypes that are prevalent in the show, one such being where Kramer goes to a cigar store to sell the Indian while saying, "How can you have a cigar store without an Indian? It is unseemly!"
Stereotypes and not being politically correct can be dangerous in a organizational setting as within an organization there is a systematic hierarchy that deals with these problems to maintain sanctity and peace amongst is employees, this branch is called The human resources. If there is an outburst and if there is a possible allude to a stereotype or a remark which isn't politically correct it could also mean a potential law suit or a demotions or even expulsion. Hence, there is extra caution that is practiced by people especially in a na organization setting.
