Question

Also need to see how it's done. Had to post this again since my last one had 2 questions

2, Jeremy (our cricket) is on a cart that is placed at the bottom of a ramp that is inclined at -10°. Chirpy is at the bottom of the ramp watching Jeremy ride the cart. A kid then pushes the cart up the ramp, giving the cart an initial speed of Vo 4s a. b. c. How many seconds will it take Jeremy to reach the top of his motion? (2 points) How far up the ramp will Jeremy be able to travel? (2 points) If, after 1 second, Jeremy falls of the cart and breaks his leg and cannot move, what is the distance Chirpy has to travel to save Jeremy from the cart crushing him as the cart rolls down the slope? (2 points)

Explanation / Answer

A) accelaration a = -g*sin(10)= -9.8*sin(10) = -1.7 m/s^2

distance traveled before coming to rest

u = 4 m/s

v = 0 m/s

a = -1/7 m/s^2

s = u^2/(2*a) = 4*4/(2*1.7) = 4.7 m

A) time taken is t = (v-u)/a = (-4)/(-1.7) = 2.35 s

B) s = u^2/(2*a) = 4*4/(2*1.7) = 4.7 m

S = 4.7 m

C) distanmce moved by cart in 1 sec is

S = (4*1)-(0.5*1.7*1^2) = 3.15 m
