Explanation / Answer
1) The theory of island biogeography was developed by Wilson. The species richness will be less in a small island located faraway from the mainland because the small island would provide uniform habitat and it would be also difficult for the introduction of new species from the mainland. The larger islands located closer to mainland would be having different hsbitatscand niches for different animal species and would be also favorable for the easier introduction of newer species.
