An object with a mass of 30.0 kg is thrown backward out of the car with a velocity of 4.90 m/s relative to the initial motion of the car. An object with a mass of 30.0 kg is thrown into the car with a velocity of 5.70 m/s relative to the ground and opposite in direction to the initial velocity of the car.

mass is thrown sideways relative to the car it still has the same eastward component of velocity, 5.00 m/s as it had before it was thrown .

v = 4.90 m/s

part b )

(ma + mb ) v = mb*vb2

vb2 = (160/130) * 4.90 = 6.03 m/s towards east

part c )

ma*va1 + mb *vb1 = (ma + mb ) v2x

v2x = (160 * 4.9 - 30 * 5.70 ) / 190

v2x = 3.23 m/s east
