Question
Gloria got an idea for a Chick-fil-a stunt, but things have gone horrible wrong, and she's stuck.
Use these values to answer the questions about Gloria.
rA = 7 m
rB = 2.42 m
mG = 230 kg
g = 9.81 m/s2
(The bar is made of etherium, which has no mass and is infinitely strong.)
1) What is the value of the tension in the rope directly holding Gloria?
TA = _____?N
2) What is the value of the torque (about the fulcrum) produced by the tension TA?
?A = ____? N-m (clockwise)
3) What is the value the tension in the rope at the opposite end from Gloria?
TB =____? N
4) Gloria calculated that the upward (normal) force required by the fulcrum is 7325 N.
Was she correct?

Explanation / Answer
1) TA = mG*g
= 230*9.8
= 2254 N
2)Torque due to TA = TA*rA*sin(90)
= 2254*7*1
= 15778 N.m
3) As the bar is in equilibrium, net force and net torque acting on the bar must be equal to zero.
Net torque about fucrum = 0
TB*rB - TA*rA = 0 (here clockwise torque is negative ans counterclockwise torque is positive)
TB = TA*rA/rB
= 15778/2.42
= 6519.8 N
4) Let F is the uoward force exerted by the fulcrum on the bar.
Net force on the bar = 0
F - TB - TA = 0
F = TA + TB
= 2254 + 6519.8
= 8773.8 N
She is not correct.
