An 80 kg student stands 2.0 m from support 1 Express your answer to two significant figures and include the appropriate units. F1 = 751 N Submit My Answers Give Up Correct Figure 1 of 1 Part B How much upward force does support 2 exert on the beam? As per guide lines i am working first problem please post second question next time
Apply Newtons second law forces
n1 + n2 - mg - Mg = 0
the net torque under equlibrium condition is zero
T = 0
n2 ( 3 m)- Mg ( 1.5 m) - mg ( 2 m) = 0
n2 = Mg ( 1.5) + mg ( 2 m)/3
= 100 kg( 9.8) (1.5) + 80 ( 9.8) ( 2 m)/3
=1012.7 N
n1 = g( M+ m) - n2
= (9.8) ( 100 + 80) - 1012.7 N
=751 N
