Question

What should be the unit? I tried everything N-m Nm N.m

please help! Maybe should it be in degree?

thanks!

A 2.10 m long wire carrying a current of 1.24 A forms a 4-turn loop in the shape of an equilateral triangle. If the loop is placed in a constant uniform magnétic field with a magnitude of 0.467 T, determine the maximum torque that acts on it. 0.0307 Nm Unable to interpret units. Computer reads units as "Nin", Tries O/12 2011 Other Views My g eneral preferences on what is marked as (, 23.2015, 17:18:30 (EDT)) Evan Glenn Patton II This should just be NiAB with the sin function equalling 1 to maximize torque but im still getting the answer wrong. N is the number of loop turns and everything else just plugs in. Take your length of wire and divide it amongst the three sides, find total area of the triangle and thats your A. Suggestions? Re: 211(,23. 2015, 17:26:06 (EDT)) Make sure you incorporate the number of loops into the length of the sides, So the length of the sides would be (length given) (number of turns)* (3 sides of the triangle), Once you find the length, you can find the height of the triangle using the pythagorean theorem. After that, use (1/2)bh to find the area of the triangle Why divide by number of turns? "Anonymous"(, 24. 2015, 18:42:19 (EDT)) Why do you have to divide the length by number of sides and turns? Re: Why divide by number of turns?4 1 (, 25. 2015, 21:46:23 (EDT)) you don't need to divide by sides and turns, just by sides, because its an equilateral triangle My settings for this discussion: 1.-2.-- Other Views My eneral preferences on what is marked as NE refere Send Feedback

Explanation / Answer

Since you have asked only units ,the unit of torque is Joule (J) but since Joule is unit of work so to avoid confusion we use Nm as the unit of torque but you say Nm is not correct so try Joule or J
