Twenty minutes later, when Dr. Morrison comes in,they realize he was placed in the wrong room. He now has to wait another thirty minutes to see the correct physician and is very irate when he leaves. Later that same day, Karen Smith is registered ot see Dr.Cole.She steps out to the restroom and the newly hired medical assistant calls for Karen. Karen Maxwell gets up and goes in for her first visit with Dr. Cole and it isnt unitl the medical assistant asks about her response to the medication that was prescribed at the last visit that they realize the patinet is not Karen Smith. You recommendthat the practice implement a patient verfication policy to prevent these types of errors in the future.
