Question

ase Presentation: female cheerleader comes to the campus health clinic having difficulty with her balance. She says that the issue came when she fell from a lifted position onto her right side and hit her head on the floor outside of the protective mats. Since then she has had difficulty performing everything in the cheer routines that are required of the team for their competition. Any spins and tumbles leaves her feeling very ill to point of nausea, which is highly usually as she enjoys spinning. You notice that while she attempts to follow your movements around the exam room there is a distinct nystagmus beat to her eyes. X-rays show no fractures to the cranium and physical examination shows that all other physiological measures are within normal ranges Based on your current understanding of Human Anatomy and Physiology, and with the use of correct medical/scientific terminology, generate a 2-3 paragraph response with a diagramed feedback loop describing the physiology of the case, that indicates the systems of the body that are impacted and the physiology of that system which was impacted, include in your response: What are abnormal responses and findings? Of these abnormalities, what is the most likely etiology (cause) for the problems that she presents? Are there any additional tests would you perform? Why? What would you expect to find given her complaints? What treatment would be advised? Does she need to worry about progression and reoccurrence of issues? What could happen if the issue were to progress without treatment? In 1 paragraph, and using lay terminology and your understanding of human Anatomy and Physiology, walk your patient through the findings, conclusions, and treatment options.
