#22r7ikates please help thanks A rectangular loop with a length of 0.600 m, width of 0.400 m, and consisting of 112 tightly-wrapped turns is hinged along they-axis and placed in a uniform magnetic field such that the plane of the loop makes an angle of 35.0 degree with the x-axis (see figure below). The magnetic field has a magnitude of 0.807 T and points in the positive x direction, and the current in the coil is 1.25 A. (a) Determine the magnitude of the torque exerted on the loop. N m (b) Determine the expected direction of rotation of the loop. The loop rotates clockwise as viewed from above.The loop rotates counterclockwise as viewed from above. The loop does not rotate.Explanation / Answer
apply the formula for torque acting on a loop as T = NiAB sin theta
where i = current = 1.25 A
A = area = 0.6 * 0.4 = 0.24 m^2
magnetic field B = 0.807 Tesla
N = no. of turns = 112
so
T = 112 * 1.25 * 0.24 * 0.807 * sin 35
T = 15.55 Nm
